Task: Plan accurate Agent chat message times and waiting status

Identity

  • Task ID: 20261013-chat-message-time-64ebac32
  • Mode: Feature
  • Branch: codex/20261013-chat-message-time-64ebac32-chat-message-time
  • Worktree: /Users/chillishark/Makelore 麦洛/.codex-worktrees/makelore/20261013-chat-message-time-64ebac32
  • Base commit: 2899009215
  • Owner: codex
  • Status: Planning

Scope

  • Inspect existing timestamp contracts and propose per-message send/reply times plus waiting-status timing in personal Agent chat.

Intent And Constraints

  • User asks how to add time to the proposed queue display. This turn prepares an accurate interaction and source-backed implementation approach; no product change, live probe, message submission, runtime update, cancelled publication repair, deployment, merge/push or cleanup. Preserve existing temporary app/profile/inputs and desktop focus.

Outcome

  • Proposed compact per-message time integrated with the approved queue/status direction. User question: local-timeHH:mm plus sent/confirmed waiting status; waiting duration tied to cloud request acceptance, not history poll time. Assistant reply: pending/processing state while running, completion time only after actual recorded finish. Completion clears transient status but retains the time; cancelled/failed states remain identifiable. Today usesHH:mm; older dates add month/day and year when needed; tooltip carries full date/seconds.
  • Existing CloudMessage.created_at already passes through Main and can expose a stable recorded-message time. Current TrialMessages/live articles render no time. Existing formatMessageTimestamp/MessageTimestamp in Code chat provides local-time formatting, date fallback, semantictime element and full-time tooltip; retain Makelore typography/light palette and adjust label to actual semantics.
  • Crucial semantic boundary: assistant created_at can be established at model start with empty content, not finish; historical/legacy paths may create rows at final storage. Therefore do not label it reply-completion time. Yuxi Run timing already records created/started/first-output/finished, but client CloudRun/Main projection currently drop it. first_output_at may include reasoning/tools, so do not call it first visible answer time.
  • Current Yuxi personal request_view and history.queued_requests return only IDs/status/version, not requestcreated_at. Main/CloudRequest use the same five fields. Accurate persistent send/wait durations therefore require exposing the original request timestamp in personal DTO/history and forwarding it; existing older dates remain unknown unless their durable request/run records can supply them. The current user-message created_at is server input acceptance before enqueue/dispatch (agent_run_service.py636–656, queue service256–275), so it can serve as the confirmed sent time; it is not the physical local click time. Requestcreated_at is queue entry, while Runcreated_at occurs only at dispatch.
  • No product source, runtime, server, message data or configuration changed. This is a source-backed proposal, not an activated UI.

Verification

  • Read current committed client shared DTOs, Main operation whitelist/history projection, CloudChat TrialMessages/stream type and existing MessageTimestamp/formatMessageTimestamp. Read committed YuxiHEAD784b7dcf25b0b27dccc4c3e3486cd466a6e7a6dc reference only; no Yuxi ownership adoption or uncommitted product reads.
  • Known paths: client CloudChat.tsx426, shared/cloud-agents.ts88–120, electron/services/cloud-agent-operations.ts8/71/95/271–277, src/pages/Chat/MessageTimestamp.tsx and src/lib/message-timestamp.ts. Yuxi makelore_conversation_service.py209/227/306 and agent_run_service.py888 carry the data boundary. Independent timestamp-contract review confirmed audit-start/finish semantics and first-output ambiguity.
  • No new test/build or live probe needed because product code and application are unchanged.

Follow-ups

  • If implementation is requested, bind it to the then-current committed app source and the message replay repair. Backend should expose durable request acceptance and actual reply completion timestamps for history/queue without new invented times; Main/shared DTOs retain those approved fields; Renderer uses consistent local-time formatting and preserves original intent timestamps on retries. Test queue/reload, delayed dispatch, multi-message answer, completion/cancellation, invalid/legacy times, cross-day/year/timezone and old-message replay. Missing times should be omitted or explicitly unknown, never reset to now.

Promotion Candidates

  • None recorded.

Project Context Loaded

  • Task ID20261013-chat-message-time-64ebac32, modefeature, exact branch/worktree/base2899009215b1de8e28b84fc108e880c6e68a6098 verified against bundled start/status. Isolated from all occupied worktrees. No unknown work adopted.
  • Entry/memory/AGENTS, project-positioning/current-state/decisions/system, personal-cloud-Agents ADR, domain/success criteria and evidence/reflection/commitments are already loaded in this continuing project session; canonical trees match previously reviewed2899009 context. Own generated record read before planning. All current peer Scope/Intent/Promotion sections reread; adjacent prior chat replay diagnosis is complete/read-only; publication repair remains cancelled. Existing teacher/time presentation belongs to separate consultation path. No semantic conflict blocks this read-only planning.
  • Main owns authenticated APIs and whitelisted DTO fields. UI must show real message times, preserve task/account/message identity and avoid attributing final storage time to initial output or request dispatch time to initial click/queue entry. A missing timestamp must remain unknown rather than fabricate exact cloud time. Existing Makelore light/compact message style remains.
  • Likely files: shared CloudMessage/CloudRequest/CloudRun, Main cloud-agent operation projection, CloudChat TrialMessages/stream messages, committed Yuxi request/run/history views. Unknowns: precise semantics of history.created_at and queue/start/first-output fields. No live inspection needed.
  • Planning Gate: Passed.

Plan

  1. Verify message/send/reply/queue timestamp availability and semantic boundaries in client and committed backend source.
  2. Propose compact per-message time plus status/wait-duration interaction, including dates/timezone/history/streaming rules.
  3. Record source evidence and exact client/backend work required; explain in plain Chinese. No implementation/app update in this proposal.

Timestamp Contract Review Detail

  • Model audit begins an assistant row at start and publishes it later with the same created_at; finish updates actualfinished_at/content. Legacy creation may occur at final storage. Accurate reply-completion presentation therefore needs messagefinished_at or the associated completed Runfinished_at rather than barecreated_at. Historical personal pages include only the latest Run and cannot stamp every earlier reply with that one finish time.
  • Current-page wait fallback may correlate queue request_id with the user message's servercreated_at, but durable queue/requestcreated_at anddispatched_at should be exposed for complete pagination/restart recovery. Columns already exist; no database migration or made-up local time is needed. Same local request retries retain first send identity/time. Group multi-message answer timing by actual request/run, preserving each message's provenance.

Authorized Existing-Time Implementation

  • User clarifies that ordinary sent/reply times are wanted, then explicitly authorizes direct implementation. This supersedes the earlier proposal's completion-time precision work: use the existing authoritative history.messages.created_at as each message's recorded time and label it sending/reply time; do not call it finished_at. No new Yuxi endpoint/field, clock estimate or waiting-duration contract is needed for this scope.
  • Bundled check/start/status reverified the same owner/task/branch/base. All current peer Scope/Intent/Promotion sections reread; canonical/AGENTS context is unchanged and reused. No source semantics conflict; earlier publication repair remains cancelled and chat replay repair is separate. Current deployed Renderer remains2899009, matching own product baseline. Planning Gate: Passed.
  • Reuse established local-time/date/tooltip behavior, preserving message identity and server timestamps across refresh/reopen. Streaming content without authoritative time should not be stamped with now; display a pending label until the recorded history arrives. Any saved time found by stable message identity remains its original time, including known old replay identity. Preserve existing styling, history/draft/account behavior and Main/backend protocols.
  • Scope is ordinary chat timestamps and meaningful Renderer regression coverage/typecheck/scoped lint/build. No automatic question submission, paid calls, backend deployment, merge/push or cleanup. Temporary-app activation will only be considered as an explicit requested update; this instruction directly authorizes source implementation.

Implementation Plan

  1. Add sending/reply timestamps to persisted and live personal Agent messages using existing formatter/component and authoritative history data; align quiet footer with each bubble.
  2. Verify saved/live/hydration/reopen and missing-time behavior with focused UI tests and production compilation.
  3. Record result and hand off committed source, keeping the running app unchanged unless separately authorized to update it.

Current Runtime Assembly And Background Update

  • During implementation another authorized UI task updated the running Renderer to2b2f7b96b0e2c378c706f29099ffb974dc1acdbf (application-message-v3), while Main PID9968/source7c51 and Host API58003 remain. The actual current product/test/README delta2899009→2b2f7b9 is assembled before time activation to preserve its application-retry wording, staged configuration checks and subagent selection changes. Foreign task/canonical docs are not copied. No semantic conflict with timestamp UI; README combines its current paragraphs with the own time paragraph, and E2E copy retains both changes.
  • Source timestamp implementation is authorized directly. In this ongoing temporary-app workflow, root treats reversible background Renderer refresh as part of delivering the visible requested change, with fresh immutable source/binding checks and strict input/task/receipt guards. This supersedes the earlier source-only handoff plan, not the cancelled publication repair. No Main restart, backend request/publication/cancellation or focus activation is included.
  • Background stage uses actual predecessor current pointer/manifest chain and original stable Renderer URL/profile; no discard authorization is reused. If quiet-state or writer binding differs, activation stops without overwriting inputs/runtime.

Implementation Verification Before Runtime Binding

  • Added small aligned timestamps to saved user/assistant messages via existing MessageTimestamp formatter/semantictime component. TodayHH:mm, older dates/date-year and full second-level tooltip follow existing app rules. Both formal chat and preview/history comparison reuse TrialMessages. Explicit labels are 发送时间/回复时间, never claiming completion.
  • Live messages use authoritative same-thread assistant source identity to find created_at; known old source IDs retain original date across Run replay, while unknown active/terminal times show 回复中…/时间未记录. No clock-now fallback, Main/backend endpoint, request timing field or queued-status behavior changed. Existing repeat-message defect is not repaired by this timestamp change.
  • Added9 meaningful UI regressions for persisted dates, invalid values, next-day reopening, live hydration, partial history, oldRun source identity, user-ID isolation and terminal-history failure. Updated existing Electron UI fixture with authoritative created_at and semantictime/label assertions. Full native Electron E2E is not run because it creates visible windows; focused Renderer boundary tests and later read-only actual-app DOM verification provide this request's coverage without desktop activation.
  • Current assembled source tests:120/120 across10 focused unit suites; typecheck and production Vite/Main/Preload/utility build passed. Scoped ESLint passed with only the existing two CloudChat warnings (component/constants fast-refresh export and generation ref cleanup). Independent source review found no blocking defect. Diff/drift checks pass. Earlier43focused/9new tests are included in120, not additional distinct coverage.
  • Preserved actual2b2f7b9 product deltas and approved timestamp code only, excluded foreign project docs. Stage helpers are preparation only at this point; source commit will be bound before any activation. No live questions/cancellations/config mutations or application refresh occurred yet.

Completed Background Timestamp Update

  • Final clean implementation commit64b4a84a2d07889908cef16656341986c5a8f11b compiled and staged at /Users/chillishark/Makelore 麦洛/.trial-runtime/chat-time-20261013-64ebac32/runtime, binding actual predecessor2b2f7b96b0e2c378c706f29099ffb974dc1acdbf and its manifest SHA chain. Root reviewed/finalized helpers before binding, adding modern user/tenant account identity hashing, stable original file-URL validation and preventing a previously visible chat from disappearing during time verification.
  • All Main/preload/resources/package artifact bytes match the actual immutable Main snapshot. Source runtime delta from current2b is exactly CloudChat.tsx and agent-chat.css; preserved all other accepted changes. Capture-only preflight confirmed idle, no input/unsaved state, files, tasks, leases, blocked unload, dialogs or held/visible secret receipts. No discard authorization used.
  • Root activated the Renderer overlay and prepare.py--verify passed active-verified. Main PID9968, Host API58003, profile/login/account, stable file URL/hash/page, bounds/visibility/window state and foreground PID83608 remain. No temporary home navigation, no Main restart, new model call, input/configuration mutation or app focus action. Inspector closed successfully. Verification receipt: /Users/chillishark/Makelore 麦洛/.trial-runtime/chat-time-20261013-64ebac32/verification-receipt.json.
  • Loaded new assets/mount verified in the real app. The user's current page had no visible chat message articles, so actual message-time DOM visibility is explicitly pending their natural next chat opening; root did not navigate just to create that evidence. Timestamp semantics/layout/hydration were checked in the120passing focused UI/unit tests and updated E2E assertions; full native E2E not run to preserve desktop focus. Do not claim a real visible-message screenshot check.
  • Current runtime now reports Renderer64b4a84/source ownworktree; Main source remains7c51bb4a008e388071ec37156adeae80eff24167. Stage retains the actual old Renderer rollback binding. Application is updated for normal user viewing. Source branch/worktree are retained; no merge/push or cleanup.
  • Outcome complete: requested existing-field send/reply timestamps implemented, tested and applied in background. Queue-presentation redesign, wait-duration and the separate upstream replay fix are not included in this time-only result. Earlier exact-finish proposal is superseded by the user's simple message-time request.

User-Specified Sender Time Placement Correction

  • User screenshots show current sender timestamp inside the purple bubble and Codex sender timestamp outside/below its bubble. User explicitly says assistant reply time is correct. Scope: move only sender bubble styling to the message-body and keep the sender timestamp as the existing sibling footer below/right outside the bubble. Preserve purple palette, text, timestamps/tooltip/identity, assistant layout, APIs, and all existing runtime source.
  • Same-task bundled check/start/status resumed exact owned branch/worktree/base. Current Renderer64b4a84 matches own committed product, with later95e701c documentation only. Canonical/AGENTS/entry/design context is unchanged and reused; all current peer Scope/Intent/Promotion sections read. No semantic conflict blocks this sender-only CSS correction. Planning Gate: Passed.
  • Update mobile padding on the inner bubble, relevant E2E geometry expectations and README. Use headless browser CSS geometry/visual checks without launching visible Electron windows; retain existing timestamp unit regressions and typecheck/build. Stage a fresh immutable overlay against actual64b4 predecessor, then strict quiet/account/input/receipt/CAS checks before background refresh. No new send/copy/edit buttons, assistant time redesign, queue/replay/sourceBackend changes or focus activation.

Sender Placement Verification Before Refresh

  • Only sender selectors in agent-chat.css changed: bubble padding/background/border/radius/shadow moved from the outer article to the existing inner message-body; the existing time sibling is now outside the bubble with8px gap and4px right inset. Mobile body padding follows the same split. No sender/assistant timestamp values, labels, message logic or assistant selectors changed. README and Electron spec now reflect the inner bubble and assert footer below/outside it.
  • Headless Chromium QA with real MessageTimestamp React SSR, bundled styles/fonts and synthetic short/long/unbroken messages passed at320/375/980/1366/1920. Sender wrapper/footer transparent, purple bubble retained,8px gap/4px text inset, wrapping correct, no horizontal overflow. Assistant bubble/time computed styles and dimensions match oldHEAD baseline. Root reviewed the1366 screenshot; child reviewed320/1366. No real app or network/private data touched by this visual check. Evidence: /Users/chillishark/Makelore 麦洛/.trial-runtime/chat-time-placement-20261013-64ebac32/qa/geometry.json andplacement-*.png.
  • Existing43focused timestamp/rendering/reasoning/stream/formatter tests passed, typecheck/production build/scoped E2E lint/diff checks pass. No new implementation-mirroring unit tests added for this CSS-only correction; the updated browser geometry assertion and actual headless layout checks verify the requested behavior. Native Electron E2E is not launched to preserve user focus.
  • Fresh separate deployment stage /Users/chillishark/Makelore 麦洛/.trial-runtime/chat-time-placement-20261013-64ebac32 retains reviewed prior helper guards and restricts runtime source delta toagent-chat.css against64b4a84. Main/shared/backend remain unchanged. Sender geometry will also be checked if real messages are visible during post-refresh read-only verification.
